Compatibility saves money

Guidelines to reduce plant operating costs and improve power quality in electrical distribution systems are discussed. Specification languages for the electronic equipments are also described for the better performance. Harmonic distortion, voltage unbalance, common-mode voltage, switching transients and common DC bus ASD systems are some of the problems whose cost effective solutions are presented. It is suggested that equipment specifications must be adopted to eliminate unexplained or mysterious events and reduce the cost of product manufacture.
