摘要
New weakly coordinating anions 1-CH3-CB11H5X6- = Cl, Br, I) have been prepared in high yield by either C-methylation of hexahalocarborane anions CB11H6X6- or direct halogenation of 1-CH3-CB11H11-. The lithiation of CB11H6X6- works just as well as that of the parent anion CB11H12- which offers a convenient method for the preparation of C-alkylated carborane anions of the type 1-R-CB11H5X6-. The useful silver(I) reagents of these new anions not only showed increased solubility in various organic solvents but also demonstrated the subtlety and diversity of their solid state structures. They are all one-dimensional coordination polymers in the solid state. The coordination details are, however, unique to each structure. (C) 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
