摘要：
The developments made in the field of information, and its relationship to command and control in 2002 were discussed. Areas of activity included DOD transformation, lessons learned from Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Millennium challenge '02. To focus the science and technology (S&T) community's efforts to support transformation, DOD research and engineering is in the process of defining a surveillance and knowledge system (SKS) initiative. The SKS vision is to achieve information dominance by developing and demonstrating integrated C4ISR technologies that enable seamless, interoperable, knowledge-based, assured joint and coalition network-centric warfare.
