Using Generalized Stochastic Petri net to analyze workflow performance

摘要
Modeling of workflow system and time performance analysis has been recognized as a significant, aspect in workflow theory. Time performance analysis and optimization in Workflow Management System (WfMS) should be considered. in traditional workflow models based on Petri net.. Through using Generalized Stochastic Petri Net (GSPN), this paper introduces time conception to Wf-net. By utilizing the equivalence relation between GSPN and Markov chain, this paper puts forward a new method, which combines Wf-net and Markov chain, to analyze the performance of workflow effectively. This paper also presents a series of synthesis and performance equivalence rules, which can reduce the compute complexity effectively and make Workflow net (Wf-net) easier analyze. Finally, GSPN method can analyze dynamic performance of workflow is verified, such as time performance, upper through etc. Meanwhile, the usefulness of the research results is illustrated by an example. The research results remedy the research problem that there is lack of performance analysis method of workflow. model, while the research results can also provide some auxiliary approaches with analyzing business process bottleneck and BPR (Business Process Reengineering).
