Design of variable fractional delay fir filter using differentiator bank

In this paper, a new variable fractional delay filter design method using differentiator bank is presented. First, the Taylor series expansion is used to transform the specification of variable fractional delay filter into the one of differentiator bank. This transform makes the design problem of fractional delay filter reduce to the design of differentiators with different orders. Then, a simple window method is proposed to design the differentiator bank. Finally, the design examples are demonstrated to illustrate the effectiveness of this new design approach.
