摘要
The applications of biomolecules were discussed at the Biomolecular and Biologically Inspired Interfaces and Assemblies at the Materials Research Society Fall Meeting in Boston. Pieter Harting and George Rainey laid the foundations of science named synthetic morphology at the turn of nineteenth century who explained and artificially imitated the formation of inorganic structures associated with living matter, such as those found in diatoms, pearls or butterfly wings. Nadrian Sleiman approach uses DNA to make regular arrays by making 3D DNA assemblies. Trevor State from the Montana State University, has developed a protein-cage-based system that catalyzes the reduction of protons and produces hydrogen gas and keeps the clusters intact and remains stable up to 85°C. David Tirrell from Caltech has discovered to engineer the process to engineer a bacterium for high-fidelity incorporation of amino acids analogues at specific sites in recombinant proteins.
