Numerical simulations and experimental studies of large deformation and fracturing processes in wood

摘要
Numerical simulations of deformation and fracturing processes in wood are presented. The material modelling is based on continuum theory and involves use of a crushable foam plasticity model and a fictitious crack model. The results of the simulations are compared with experimental results, good agreement between the two being obtained.
