Wave growth in an oscillating model of pulsar magnetospheres

摘要
The pulsar radio emission mechanism has yet to be identified unambiguously. The counter-strearning instability is a possible wave growth mechanism, but the growth rate in conventional models is too low. Here we argue that the growth rate in an oscillating model of the pulsar magnetosphere is much higher than in conventional models, and might account for the observed emission.
