PREPARATION OF ZnO/Al2O3 NANOCOMPOSITE PARTICLES BY MECHANICAL TREATMENT

摘要
ZnO ceramics have excellent electrical properties that make it useful as a varistor, sensor, piezoelectric device, and so on. In this study, nanocoposite particles of ZnO/nano Al2O3 prepared by mechanical treatment were used to fabricate ZnO ceramics. TEM observations show that the ZnO and nano Al2O3 particles are directly joined in the powder mixture prepared by mechanical treatment. The relative density of the ZnO ceramics fabricated from the nano-composite particles prepared by mechanical treatment was about 98.9%, which is as high as that of ZnO ceramics fabricated from the powder mixture prepared ball milling.
