The Investigation on College Students' to Homosexuality Attitude

Objective: To investigate the college students' attitudes on homosexuality and the effects of homosexuality health education on them. Methods: Totally 432 university students were tested by the questionnaire of attitudes toward homosexuals. Results: 1) The result showed that the college students' attitudes on homosexuality differed significantly in three dimensionality, such as grade, major and region. Senior students had more positive attitudes than freshmen toward homosexuality. Students majored in psychology, compared with medical and non-medical students, had more positive attitudes towards homosexuality. Students from urban areas were more acceptable of homosexuality than those from rural areas. 2) Senior psychology students who had received homosexuality health education held more objective opinion as well as more positive attitudes toward homosexuality. 3) Few college students were homosexuals. Conclusion: College students have generally positive attitudes to homosexuality and homosexually health education is needed in the university education system.
