摘要
The Olympic Games has always been given much attention by international society, with its impact extending well beyond the field of sports to that of international politics, economy and society. The three East Asian Olympic Games hosted by Japan, South Korea and China have promoted their socio-economic development with great local, regional and global implications. This essay will first analyze the Olympic impact in terms of urban transformation and nation building for each host city and country and then critically assess the significance and controversies of the Olympic impact of the Beijing Games.
