Parliamentary Elections 2020 in Slovakia: Alternative Media, Conspiracies and Imbalance of Information Content

There are guaranteed many ways of gathering information in democratic societies. On the other hand, the information content of alternative media seems to be different and, in some cases, it is even difficult to determine whether the neutrality of arguments as well as ethics are secured. These two objective indicators usually gain credibility and trust of the media. Obviously, there are also alternative media which, according to their content, oscillate between conspiracy and rebellion against political parties and leaders. The paper aims to map two selected alternative websites operating in Slovakia during the electoral campaign towards the parliamentary elections in 2020. Our emphasis in research is given to the content analysis and bias related to political parties which may ultimately lead to a more positive outcome for particular candidates.
