Relation of individual motor characteristics to personality characteristics

Theoretical aspects of the problem of motor manifestations of individual personality characteristics, as well as the notion of a person's soma in philosophy and anthropology are discussed. The authors suggest treating soma in psychology as a fluid phenomenon which emerges in the system of transitions from motor schemes expressing readiness to perform certain actions, to characteristic meaningful intentions of a subject. An empirical study has revealed integrated psychomotor characteristics of behavior and their relation to personality characteristics (dynamics, character, self-actualization). The study provides reasons for asserting that psychomotor organization of personality is an integral phenomenon.
