Lateral Replenishment Strategy for Chain Supermarket Fresh Agricultural Products Inventory Optimization

This paper proposes and analyzes the lateral replenishment strategy, and apply the strategy thinking to solve the replenishment and deployment problems so as to optimize the inventory and to minimize the total inventory cost of the supermarket chains system. This paper establishes the inventory total cost model, calculate and compares the whole system inventory cost between using the lateral replenishment strategy and using the traditional replenishment strategy. And it draws the conclusion that there is lower total cost when supermarket chains solve the shortage or surplus of fresh agricultural products by using the lateral replenishment strategy.
