Taiwan's policies on studying abroad and national development

This essay explains the policies of the Republic of China (Taiwan) toward the acquisition of a foreign education. It covers governmental assistance and guidance for Chinese with an American education who would like to return to Taiwan to work, as well as related governmental policies, measures, and achievements regarding contacting overseas scholars and inviting or hiring them to participate in our national construction. The impact on and contributions of all these factors to the modernization of Taiwan are also discussed.
