摘要
A ferrocene supramolecular structure, 1, has been generated by mixing ferrocenecarboxylic acid with 4,4'-azopyridine in methanol, in the presence of 2,6-lutidine as a base. Both FTIR spectrum and single crystal X-ray diffraction revealed association through hydrogen bonds were carboxylic group acts as donor while pyridine nitrogen as acceptor. The spin state of the iron atom was verified by Moessbauer spectroscopy while the redox behavior was studied by cyclic voltammetry.
