Change must become a way of life for the water industry

Water industry must incorporate change to remain competitive. Certain issues that they need to consider include the exploding population in the United States; bottled-water issues; the security of water systems; privatization; and the effects of technological advances. They also need to improve their efforts at capturing and directing sources of water. This step will reduce their dependency on reservoirs, lakes, and rivers, as water supply sources. In addition, the culture of the water supply utilities must also change. For instance, communication between the utility's board, management, and employees must increase.
