An information System for online Quality Control of Export Fruits

The fruit export market in Chile lacks of an online system or procedure for quality control of export fruit, which considers the minimum mandatory parameters that different types of fruit must meet in order to be exportable to different destinations. To solve this problem, we designed an information system that allows the online control quality of export fruits during the different stages of the productive process. The system aims to alert the managers about the quality of the work that technical staff is developing inside the orchard, and in this way to optimize production resources, ensuring that the work is being performed under the required and expected standards. The quality control is carried out through orchard supervisors, who utilizing a mobile are able to enter information collected in real time from the production zones, and if its necessary, alert the managers of the estate about the state or quality of the fruit in the orchard. This will allow taking actions in order to improve or to correct the procedures are being developed.
