摘要
Ground source heat pump (GSHP) systems have become an attractive technology for many domestic and commercial applications because they offer an efficient and environmentally-friendly way of heating and cooling of space and water within buildings. A closed loop GSHP system has been installed at the Marmont Renewable Energy Research Centre of the School of the Built Environment. The system consists of a water-to-air heat pump, which is coupled to three vertical ground loops (one U-tube and two concentric tubes). Investigations of the thermal performance of this system were carried out for the different ground heat exchanger designs, and two secondary refrigerants, e.g. 20% mono propylene glycol and 20% potassium formate solutions, The results indicate that the coefficient of performance (COP) of the system improves when a U-tube ground heat exchanger and 20% mono ethylene glycol are used.
