An analytical interpretation of laboratory compaction fine-grained soils by means of the pulsation method

摘要
The paper presents results of compactibility studies of fine-grained soils carried out with a pulsator. An analytical interpretation of course of the compaction process by the pulsation method is discussed. To analyse the dynamic behaviour of the soil-pulsator system a single degree of freedom system was adapted. The equation of motion of this system was solved by numerical integration. A good correlation of the computational and experimental results was obtained. The empirical model described properly reflects characteristics features of the process - a rapid increase of settlement at the beginning of compaction and a slower increase later on.
