摘要：
Pillar[n]arenes are a new class of host molecules, which are cyclic oligomers consisting of hydroquinones or 1,4-disubstituted hydroquinone ethers linked by methylene bridges in the para positions of the benze rings. Herein, recent development on the synthesis of pillar[n]arenes and pillar[n]arene derivatives, and their host-guest chemistry, i. e., molecular recognition and selective binding towards guest molecules, and their self-assembly properties was reviewed. In addition, prospects for future research based on pillar[n]arenes were also discussed.
