Simulation of E-Defense full-scale shake-table test results of moment-resisting steel frame

摘要
A full-scale collapse test of a four-story moment resisting frame was conducted in September 2007 at the E-Defense shake-table facility in Japan. A bind analysis contest was organized for simulating the incipient collapse response of the frame to stimulate development of computational methods and efficient modeling techniques for seismic response analysis. In this report, statistical data are presented for the types and parameter values employed by the participants of the contest, and the key factors to accurate estimation of collapse behavior are investigated. Analysis model and method for predicting the elastoplastic responses without preliminary test on material and structural components are also presented for investigating the accuracy of the analysis results in practical design process of steel frames.
