摘要
Injury associated with ischemia and reperfusion is a significant factor in a number of clinical diseases. We have completed a number of preclinical studies investigating the blockade of leukocyte adhesion molecules in ischemia-reperfusion injury. In our work and in the work of other investigators, monoclonal antibodies directed to CD18, P-selectin and L-selectin were effective in reducing ischemia-reperfusion injury to the rabbit ear and in reducing injury following hemorrhagic shock in both rabbits and nonhuman primates. Ischemia-reperfusion injury was also reduced by synthetic oligosaccharide sLe(x). These studies suggest that adhesion blockade might be effective in the clinical setting.Blood Coag Fibrinol9 (suppl 2): S17-S23 (C) 1998 Lippincott-Raven Publishers.
