摘要
The Rio de la Plata churches suffered a double outbreak during the Independence Revolution: from the outside, due to their acephalia with regard to the Charcas Archidiosesis. From the inside, because the autonomist aspirations of the cities resisted the dioceses hierarchies. The ecclesiastical jurisdictions collapsed, the relations with Rome were interrupted, and this is not explained merely through the Borbonic regalistic inheritance as the religious historiography has affirmed. In this article we will try to show how difficult it was to keep regular relations with Rome at a moment when the regional Church was splitted into fragments.
