Socio-economic and culturel factors effecting self efficacy on reading comprehension

The purpose of this research is to determine the effects of socio-economic and culturel factors in which the students at 5th grade in primary school have on the self efficacy perception related to reading comprehension. Descriptive searching method has been applied and likert scale has been used for this research. The schools under responsibility of Siirt National Education department were the subject to this research which are Mehmetcik and Sehit Polis Hayrettin Sisman primary schools having different socio-economic and culturel areas. 5th grade students from both schools are included in this sample. In credibility analysis, 27-item-scale's reliability factor is found as 0.88. Finally, according to the findings the comments are offers will be given. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
