摘要
The goal of this paper is to explore teachers' perception on a more sustainable model of professional development programs for English teachers. A case study research was used in this research which was conducted in South Sulawesi, Indonesia. Multiple methods of data collection were used including Likert-scale questionnaire and interviews. 30 participants completed the online questionnaire and five of them were interviewed to further explore their perceptions of sustainable professional development. The analysis of questionnaire was assisted by Ms excel and the interview data were coded through thematic data analysis. The findings revealed that five sustainable professional development programs were on-going mentoring, gain a degree, series of practical workshop, teachers' exchange program, and bottom up teacher' association program. The implication is that it is essential for the government and educational stakeholders to consider a sustainable professional development program as a way to improve teachers' knowledge and skills that result in improving the quality of teaching and learning.
