摘要
The control of electromagnetic wave propagation is an important issue in either fundamental electromagnetic research or device application technologies. In this presentation we incorporate the active element into the metasurface concept to achieve dynamic control of electromagnetic wave reflection. We will present the application of active metasurfaces to the control of the polarization and phase of the electromagnetic wave reflection. Two examples will be reported in the microwave frequency including polarization modulation and 360 degree phase tuning. Both of them are based on specially designed metasurfaces with loaded active circuit elements. These examples demonstrate the significant ability and potential applications of metasurfaces for dynamic control of the electromagnetic wave propagation.
