摘要
The study of metaphor transfer is a tentative attempt to shed light on the process of the acquisition of L2 metaphor from the perspective of the interplay of the cross-language matching modes between concept systems and their linguistic forms. An empirical approach was then conducted with multiple choices task as an instrument to collect the data, and with 2 groups of subjects participating in: the intermediate level group (36 students) and high level group (39 students) and the research results were dealt with by the software SPSS 13.0. The empirical results indicate that the cross-language matching mode between the conceptual basis and its linguistic form is one of the main factors influencing L2 metaphor comprehension, and such influences will be dwindled away with the accretion of language proficiency. However, it's still a long way to go before the establishment of L2 metaphorically conceptual system.
