摘要
Quadriplegia or Tetraplegia is a type of physical impairment; it is refers to loss of motor and/or sensory function in the segments of the spinal cord. A person suffering from quadriplegia is exposed to factors affecting their quality of life, as the inability to move and perform its core functions. In severe cases, people lose the ability to speak, leaving them unable to communicate their needs to their families or caregivers. This paper describes the design of a graphical user interface (GUI), according to specific requirements of a quadriplegic patient; the interface allows interacting with a communication system that gives to the patient the ability to communicate their needs to their caregivers orally and in writing.
