A New Even Scrambling Encryption Algorithm for Image Based on Sudoku Grids

Even scrambling is a kind of practical method to encrypt image. But this method is suitable for square image only and broke easily as it's too simple An new even scrambling encryption algorithm by scrambling the pixel location with sudoku grids matrix is proposed in this paper. Between the Natural order and the numeric order in the row, line or block of sudoku grids matrix, there is a certain mapping mode, which is adopted as the rule to even scramble the pixel. The algorithm is suitable for image with any size. The simulation experiments show that it has good encryption efficiency and perfect encryption effects. Also the transferring effect such as pixels dropping, dirty or error can be distributed equally by the algorithm which has high robustness, and good restoration result is produced.
