摘要：

Income inequality within countries has increased on a global scale. Chile is one of the most unequal countries in terms of disposable household income in Latin America. This inequality, measured by the Gini and Palma indexes, has decreased since 1990 in a trend that is more attributable to the narrowing of the market income gap rather than to a greater redistributive capacity of the tax and transfer system.
