Quantifying the benefits of liberalising trade in services - Introduction

This volume contains the papers presented at the quantification session of the Third Services Experts Meeting. It provides information on available empirical research, highlights the specific data requirements and conceptual challenges for modelling liberalisation of services trade, and identifies areas that deserve priority attention in the future to increase the applicability of quantification work to the realities of services sectors and its potential use in a GATS context. The topics covered range from economy-wide investigations relating to trade in services to sector specific empirical research in telecommunication services.
