Polar activity of the coming global solar cycle 23

摘要
The Kislovodsk observations of polar faculae activity at the latitudes 50 degrees - 75 degrees, during 1991 - 1997 are presented. Unusually strong bursts of polar faculae activity were observed during 1992, 1994, 1996 in the Northern and Southern hemispheres. The time-variations of polar faculae are compared with those of the magnetic flux from the Kitt Peak observations. Statistically, about 10 polar faculae have a magnetic field strength of 1 Gauss. The filling factors for polar faculae and for the intranetwork (IN) magnetic elements were also determined.
