摘要
Monitoring of the different structures of Mosul Dam projects was started since the early stage of construction periods to observe the behavior and to maintain the safety of the main dam and its appurtenant structures in addition to other schemes of Mosul Dam. During the construction periods and later on during the operation of Mosul Dam different schemes many phenomenons appeared, some of them are treated and finished, and others are treated to some extent and stayed under intensive monitoring programs. Various and intensive measurements have been conducted and incorporated with visual inspection by which it has been possible to determine and check the dam behavior. The performance of the installed instruments, different kinds of measurements in general are quite satisfactory. The importance of the safety evaluation as a control measure of dam body behavior, appurtenant structure and their foundations are proved by the intensive surveillance which indicates that its performance is adequate and acceptable.
