Entrepreneurship and Economic Growth

Countries compete not only for markets, human resources, technology or investments, but also for growth and development in a very dynamic economic environment. Economic growth has always constituted a leading concern for governments, policymakers, and researchers. There is a broad consensus around the necessity of a growth-oriented economic policy in all countries of the world. The paper builds on a vast body of literature that highlights the importance of economic growth in a highly competitive global environment and the various ways entrepreneurship may contribute to growth. The main objectives of this research are to briefly define the concepts of entrepreneurship and economic growth, and to emphasize their relationship. The methodology is based on a quantitative research. The paper shows that entrepreneurship and economic growth represent two multidimensional and interconnected concepts.
