Axisymmetric vibrational power measurement in empty and fluid filled pipes

摘要
Four practical methods of measuring the vibrational power transmission in empty or fluid filled pipes are presented. In these methods various combinations of axially aligned accelerometers and circumferential piezoelectric sensors are used. The only waves of interest here are the propagating axisymmetric n = 0 waves in the fluid and the shell, as higher wave orders can be identified by accelerometers alone. The usefulness of these methods is investigated by taking vibrational power measurements on an air- or water-filled perspex pipe, excited on the shell or in the fluid. All methods showed potential, with the accuracy limited mainly by the use of discrete accelerometers. (C) 1996 Academic Press Limited
