摘要
Scholars studying literary cognition tend to focus on conventional assumptions, expectations, frames, scripts, schemata, or mental models as triggered by textual cues. But sometimes the understanding of the deep-level meaning of a text depends on the subversion of conventional interpretive frames as invited by the particular textual context. This can be clearly seen in the case of "context-determined irony," which calls for a cognitive frame that forms a contrast with or goes against the conventional cognitive frame.
