摘要
Since March 2020, the SARS-CoV-2 [Covid-19] pandemic has caused the closure of developments, but some segments are being more impacted, such as tourism. In this sense, this study aims to present the economic impacts of the pandemic on tourism in the city of Joinville, State of Santa Catarina (Brazil). It's empirical research, with a quantitative approach, using questionnaires and bibliographical research. Through a probabilistic sample, 104 questionnaires were applied to companies in the tourism sector, associated with three representative entities of the municipality, using the Google Forms platform. The results evidence that tourism activity was strongly impacted by the loss of revenue, reduction in revenue, and staff, especially in the event segment, with an average retraction of 81% in business. It concludes that there is a need for a contribution of fiscal and financial support measures, as companies in the sector, mostly micro and small companies, as well as the adoption of biosafety protocols and promotion and marketing strategies with a view to recovery and resumption of tourist activity in the destination.
