摘要：
The article has its aim in showing more than forty years of research of one of the main direction of historical-philosophical science in Kazakhstan the research of al-Farabi's legacy. It is appointed in the article the historical stages of philosophical comprehension of encyclopedically wide heritage of al-Farabi. It is considered in the article the scientific-organizational acts and self-sacrificing activity of scientists which began research works in the sphere of comprehending al-Farabi's legacy and which supported to its forming and the further development. The main directions of development and the problems of comprehending al-Farabi's works are shown, the contribution of Kazakhstani researches in this field of historic philosophical knowledge and the specific features of research activity in the period of Kazakhstani independence is determined. The prospects of the further research of al-Farabi's legacy are considered.
