摘要
A 1,10-bi-2-naphthol-based macrocyclic compound was found to show large fluorescent enhancement at a greatly red-shifted wavelength in the presence of one equiv. Hg2+ but not with any other metal ions. This change was visually observable from blue-greenish emission to bright yellow emission. The fluorescence was quenched when more than 2.6 equiv. Hg2+ was added.
