摘要
The objective of this study was to know the composition of avian communities in fragment of Atlantic Rain Forest with 600 ha, located in Praia Vermelha beach, Penha, Santa Catarina. Data were collected during ten months in the several environments, beginning in July 2002. In order to identify birds species we used the visual contact method with the aid of 8 x 21 mm Tasco pair of binoculars, voice identification as we walked on the paths of various environments at the fragments (forest inner, border and beach), and information in literature. Up to now one hundred and thirty three species of birds were identified. Although only eighty species were identify in field. Some of them are greatly dependent of forested habitat, how Penelope obscura, Ramphastos dicolorus and Dysithamnus mentalis.
