摘要
Biot's theory of three-dimensional consolidation provides a rational tool for the formulation of physically realistic problems of the deformation of a deformable porous material, coupled with the flow of the fluid through the pores of the material. The theory enables to relate drained and undrained behaviour of soils, and it provides a consistent framework for non-linear problems.
