Teaching French language and culture with videos

This paper describes the use of a video-centered approach to teaching French language and culture at the beginner's and advanced levels. The pedagogy is built on the idea that language and culture are inseparable and interdependent and that nonlinguistic communication is also essential for communication. The approach is centered around two common activities that occur in social interactions, namely, the sharing of meals and a description of working conditions set within the context of French society.
