摘要
In this work, a compact rectangular monopole antenna is constructed. The results are given in terms of the reflection coefficient and the radiation pattern. The experimental result shows that the narrow band antenna works around resonant frequency of 5.065 GHz and can cover the spectrum of 272 MHz between 4.926 GHz and 5.198 GHz. The size of the proposed antenna with a slotted-feed line and a Defected Ground Structure (DGS) is compacted and printed on FR-4 epoxy substrate and occupies a volume of 14.5x8x1.6 mm(3). The advantages in this fabricated antenna are the simple design with a low coast material and miniaturized patch size (5.5x7 mm(2)) and the spectrum of WLAN 802.11a band. The numerical analysis was carried out using a CST Microwave Studio.
