摘要
This paper aims to help designers and materials scientists to comprehend the mechanics of wire ropes under tension loading. It consists of simplified theory as well as computational, mechanical and metallurgical characterizations. The simple approach used enables one to comprehend the basic concept of wire rope and to utilize it in research, design and in field failure analysis. (C) 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
