摘要
Ecological planning and sustainable development of an urban development zone are studied on the basis of a case study of the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, Shanghai. Comprehensive methods, including environmental monitoring, remote sensing and GIS, are employed to study environmental quality and ecological planning,The strategy of planning and management towards sustainable development focuses on five aspects of this approach: (1) ecological zoning; (2) an objective system of ecological construction; (3) pollution control; (4) planning for a green space system; and (5) ecological planning and a GIS database. Some suggestions on industrial structure and regulation of environmental management are also put forward.
