The Absorptive Capacity as a Generator of Innovation in the Local Productive Arrangement of Furniture in the Interior of the State Ceara

This article aims to analyze the absorptive capacity as a generator of innovation within a Local Productive Arrangement (APL) of furniture in the city of Marco, in the interior of Ceara. This study took place in five companies inserted in the furniture pole of Marco, City of the State of Ceara, which is configured as the 8th local productive arrangement in the country, and with the president of the local association. It is characterized as a qualitative study, using as a tool for data collection a semi-structured interview script, documentary research and the observation technique, as a way to complement the data collection. The study shows how a new relationship between companies manifests itself in a dynamic environment that is still considered incipient when compared to other locations or countries. Based on the analysis of the data, it is emphasized that the absorptive capacity is characterized by mechanisms developed by the companies themselves at different levels, which brings innovation in some areas, such as products, processes or services developed. Marco's Local Productive Arrangement becomes a reference in a region where productive capacity and skills become differential for the full development of the region.
