摘要
The use of process simulation software in designing and evaluating the performance of water purification, treatment and recycling facilities is increasing. Engineers at Intelligen Inc. in collaboration with Lucent Technologies, evaluated and expanded the scope of a software tool called SuperPro Designer. The enhanced tool can handle water purification, wastewater treatment and air pollution control processes and allows the design and evaluation of zero-discharge plants. SuperPro Designer was used to evaluate the water purification and wastewater treatment plant of a semiconductor manufacturing facility. The options for recycling most of the treatment effluent were examined.
