摘要
Visible light communication (VLC) is an attractive alternative to radio frequency communication for applications requiring a wireless short-range link. Different solutions have been developed, usually applying LEDs as transmitters and photodiode receivers. This paper refers to a new system, which uses video displays as massive parallel modulators and cameras as receiver. Data transmission is designed such that it can run on top of a video reproduction without annoying viewers. Different modulation schemes for such a transmission setup can be applied. Their parameters have to be chosen as a compromise between visibility of the data modulation and decoding performance in terms of data rate and bit error probability. In this paper, a system model is introduced that supports the design of the key components of the system.
