The history of the Deutsche Vierteliahrsschrift in the,Third Reich" is characterized by the insistence on a scientific continuity that nonetheless allowed for accomodation to the prevailing political conditions to a certain degree. The editorial archives shed light on the modes and limits of this accomodation, as well as on the extent to which political authorities influenced scientific publications.
